Self portrait wins award at Anderson Art Center annual juried show

The Anderson Art center juried show, had many beautiful works of art. I was humbled to receive an award. The juror was Michael W. Haga ,Assistant Dean at the College of Charleston’s School of the Arts.

In this painting I used a single source to show form. The idea not able to be seen in the picture is the layering and impasto I use to show the translucence of the skin ....warmer layers with the cooler light layers on top.
