pear and grapes 18x24 oil

This painting solved problems using my Idea of out of the shadows and into the light...soft northern light depicted here flows so beautifully. I was please with it being one of my first paintings. It was excepted into the Hartwell regional juried show.

Self portrait wins award at Anderson Art Center annual juried show

The Anderson Art center juried show, had many beautiful works of art. I was humbled to receive an award. The juror was Michael W. Haga ,Assistant Dean at the College of Charleston’s School of the Arts.
In this painting I used a single source to show form. The idea not able to be seen in the picture is the layering and impasto I use to show the translucence of the skin ....warmer layers with the cooler light layers on top.
Self Portrait 14x18 oil.
